Universal Planning specializes in town planning for Melbourne’s property industry. Our clients include: Casey City Council, Parks Victoria, Hindmarsh Shire Council, and Religious Organisations.

We are also the appointed town planning firm to the prestigious Darul Ulum College of Victoria and have provided ongoing town planning advice on various land use related matters and sought a Planning Permit for the College’s expansion. We were recently appointed to lead the Amendment to the City of Moreland Planning Scheme that seeks to incorporate the schools Master Plan into the Planning Scheme.

FORD, NISSAN & KIA

We are presently engaged by Autopact, one of Australia’s largest automotive dealership groups to upgrade their Ford, Kia, Nissan and Volkswagen showrooms and signage across Victoria. We are also currently undertaking a development application to Mt Alexander Shire Council on the merger of the Mitsubishi and Toyota Dealerships at Castlemaine in Central Victoria. 

VICTORIA SHIRE COUNCILS

Universal Planning are on the a number of Planning  Panels of preferred Town Planners to various Shire Councils across Victoria  on all planning related matters and preparing Council Reports on planning applications across the various townships and rural areas within their Municipalities. We understand the matters affecting local governments in rural Victoria and are able to offer an extensive working knowledge of the role, responsibilities and function of rural town centers, policy development and the importance of agricultural land issues and the industrial sector to the livelihood of regional communities in Victoria.

RELIGIOUS ORGANISATIONS

Universal Planning are currently engaged by the Marist Brothers (an Order of the Catholic Church) to provide town planning advice, undertake planning permit applications and development feasibility assessment advice of selected strategic land holdings held by the Brothers throughout Victoria and South East Queensland. We are also presently engaged by the Baptist Church to provide plans and permits across Victoria. At present, we are currently assisting a number of private schools across Melbourne with plans & permits for their school extensions and are presently working with the City of Moreland to amend the planning scheme to allow the Darul Ulum College of Victoria to grow with certainty over the next 20 years. 

PARKS VICTORIA

Universal Planning were appointed by Parks Victoria in July 2018 as their Town Planning Consultants for Town Planning advice, guidance and reports for Stage 1 works of The Ship Wreck Coast Master Plan which involves lodging planning applications on the following Great Ocean Road iconic locations:

    • New viewing platforms at Saddle Lookout (Twelve Apostles);
    • Port Campbell Pedestrian Bridge Crossing (Township of Port Campbell);
    • A new viewing platform at The Loch Arch Blow Hole;
    • Associated new or upgraded, relatively short lengths of walking tracks and boardwalks at each site to provide connectivity with the new structures.

    Plans and permits have now been issued by Corangamite Shire Council for all three works, meaning that people of all ages and mobility will get improved access and a better visitor experience to these iconic tourist destinations.


    In November 2018, we secured a further consultancy to provide planning permit trigger advice and coordination of the facilities upgrade at Maits Rest, 17 km west of Apollo Bay. Permits have now been issued by Colac Otway Shire Council, providing all mobility access to this popular and favourite Great Ocean Road attraction.


    We received a further consultancy  to seek buildings and works permits for implementation of Stage 2 of the Merri Creek Master Plan. This involves preparing and lodgement of planning applications to both the City of Hume and Whittlesea Councils.
