Planning for Victorian Schools
Universal Planning has been appointed as the town planning firm for several private school colleges across Victoria, providing ongoing advice on a range of land-use matters. Darul Ulum College of Victoria appointed us to lead an amendment to the City of Merri-bek Planning Scheme seeking to incorporate the school’s 20-year master plan into the planning scheme.
Automotive Dealership Groups
We work with some of Australia’s largest automotive dealership groups on upgrades to Ford, Kia, BMW, Nissan and Volkswagen showrooms and signage across Victoria. We are also managing many development applications associated with dealership mergers throughout the state.
Victorian Shire Councils
Universal Planning is included on planning panels of preferred town planners for various regional councils across Victoria. We assist these councils with planning matters and the preparation of council planning reports. Our experience provides us with an understanding of the issues affecting local governments in rural Victoria. This includes the roles and responsibilities of rural town centres, policy development, agricultural land considerations and the importance of industry to regional communities.
Religious Organisations
Universal Planning provides the Catholic Church with town planning advice, planning permit applications and development feasibility assessments for selected strategic landholdings across Victoria and South East Queensland. We are also engaged by the Baptist Church to provide plans and permits for strategic landholdings throughout Victoria.
Parks Victoria
Parks Victoria appointed Universal Planning as its town planning consultant in July 2018. We provided planning advice, guidance and reports for Stage 1 of the Ship Wreck Coast Master Plan, which required planning applications for several iconic locations along the Great Ocean Road.
The Stage 1 works included:
- New viewing platforms at Saddle Lookout at the Twelve Apostles
- A pedestrian bridge crossing in the township of Port Campbell
- A new viewing platform at the Loch Arch Blow Hole
- New or upgraded walking tracks and boardwalks connecting the structures at each location
Corangamite Shire Council issued plans and permits for all three works, supporting improved access and visitor experiences for people of different ages and mobility levels.
Maits Rest Facilities Upgrade
In November 2018, Universal Planning secured an additional consultancy to provide planning permit trigger advice and coordinate a facilities upgrade at Maits Rest, approximately 17 kilometres west of Apollo Bay. Colac Otway Shire Council issued the required permits, supporting all-mobility access to this popular Great Ocean Road attraction.
Merri Creek Master Plan
Universal Planning received a further consultancy to pursue buildings and works permits for Stage 2 of the Merri Creek Master Plan. This work involves preparing and lodging planning applications with the City of Hume and Whittlesea Councils.
