Building Permits

Universal Planning can coordinate your building permit by engaging Structural and Civil Engineers, Geotechnical and Foundation consultants, Home Energy Rating Experts and Architects to complete the Working Drawings. We have allied ourselves with a number of reputable, foremost Melbourne Building Surveyors accredited to assess building plans with a view to ensuring they comply with the Building Act 1993, the Building Regulations 2018 and the National Construction Code.
Permits For Subdivision

Since the establishment of Universal Planning, we have added over 840 new residential and 1,430 Strata Title lots into the Victorian property market. We engage those Surveying firms who use state-of-the- art CAD equipment and who are highly experienced operators capable of producing all types of community and strata titling plans including pre-construction sales documentation, concept schematics, car-parking allocation and final title plans. We provide the town planning assessment (such as the Clause 56 and Local Planning Policies appraisal) needed for Council approval. The strength of our knowledge is based on our experience and legislative understanding of complex titling developments.

VCAT REPRESENTATION AND EXPERIENCE

We have acted as representatives for diverse project types at VCAT appeals and mediations and at the Building Appeals Board as well as regularly appearing as an expert witness at both VCAT and Planning Panels Victoria.

LIQUOR LICENSES

Under the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998, it is a condition of every licence and BYO permit (excluding pre-retail, limited and major event licences) that the use of the licensed premises does not contravene the planning scheme that applies to the premises under the Planning and Environment Act 1987. For this reason, we are regularly appointed by applicants to provide a planning permit addressing the application against the relevant Council Planning Controls, such as a written assessment against Clause 52.27, preparing a Site Analysis Plan and completing a Noise and Amenity Action Plan.
